Tampa Bay Area Fechtschule

The Tampa Bay Area Fechtschule is a club that studies Western Martial Arts (WMA). Although primarily focused on the German styles in general, and the longsword in particular, the European tradition of martial arts covers a wide array of weapons and techniques. We learn, practice, and spar in an informal setting guided by documents from the 13th through 17th Century as well as modern commentaries and translations. It is the purpose of this page to provide information about the schule as well as host resources, pictures, and video related to our studies. We meet twice a week at the Highland Recreational Center in Largo, Florida, although we have drawn members from St. Petersburg, Tampa, and even Gainesville.
